  • In Case of...

Mike and I took our bikes (that we bought last year) to Dick's Sporting Goods for an annual (free with extended warranty) tune-up. Completely frustrating and very typical Dick's experience aside, Mike and I learned the following about our "Dick's No-Sweat Warranty". It covers wear and tear and problems related to materials/workmanship, or in other words, everything you might expect. It does not cover:
    1. Accessories you buy
    2. Accident, fire, lightning, theft, explosion, flood, or water damage. (Explosion?!?!)
    3. "Loss occasioned by or happening through war, invasion or act of foreign enemy, hostilities whether war be declared or not, civil war, rebellion, insurrection or military or usurped power, riot, strike, labor disturbance, lockout or civil commotion." Do they know something that I don't? Or do they want to make sure that when Barack Obama becomes president and declares himself a Muslim and the Midwest takes up arms in a coup and all Muslim countries in the Middle East invade and then there are riots in all major cities, they will not repair any damages incurred as a result. Greaaaaat. (Just kidding about the Barack thing- I guess some people still think he's a Muslim and I think it's funny).

    2. Mike and I sold a dryer for $75.00 tonight- it came with the house and we got a nicer one (THanks Mom and Dad!) and so it's cold, hard cash that will help us when we go to FL next week.

    3. I bought seed to start seedings for lots and lots of veggies, herbs and flowers!!!! I'm SO excited about planting them (I have a million pots a friend gave me). I'm trying out: scallions, cilantro, basil, oregano, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, eggplant (almost my favorite), impatiens, little white flowers I can't remember, zinnia, and marigolds. Oh, and watermelon. I remember being young and realizing that we accidentally grew watermelon beside our deck in the mulch about midsummer when we had little melons. I think someone spit a seed over the side...
